Description:

During these times of the pandemic, Programs and Services may be altered to align with government restrictions. Please continue to check our homepage for updated information.

Are you building a new blended family? This group is an educational and supportive group for parents/caregivers, stepparents and grandparents who are building a new blended family. Join us for 2 sessions where you will have an opportunity to connect with other parents/caregivers while receiving practical tools and resources to support your family.

Age range: 18+

Dates: Wednesdays, April 21 & 28, 2021

Time: 6:00pm-7:30pm

Registration deadline: April 14^th, 2021

Cost: No cost (donations gratefully accepted)

Do you want to learn some strategies to manage behaviour challenges? Parenting a preschooler comes with great rewards and some common challenges such as tantrums, bedtime, and picky eating. Throughout the three sessions, you will gain a better understanding of where your child is developmentally and learn ways to communicate effectively with them. This can help prevent many challenging situations and strengthen the foundation of positive, effective parenting as your child grows. Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ’s) are free developmental screenings that offer insight into your child’s gross motor, fine motor, communication, problem-solving, and social emotional skills. Every Ages & Stages Questionnaire that you submit is reviewed by a Parent Mentor who will provide you with an overview of your child’s results. You will also be provided with a list of age-appropriate activities that are fun and easy to do at home. A Parent Mentor can help you with any questions or concerns that you may have and provide additional resources and referrals. If you submit an ASQ for a child with a birthday in February they will received a gift!
